Water and Electricity

Obtaining a safe water supply for the villagers has been our primary aim since Sashita was formed. The following photographs outline this journey. The first few photos show the process of collecting the water prior to the water well installation. The next section shows a summary of the investigation for, and discovery of the water, the construction of the water tower and the capped water well. Unfortunately, the water source was so deeply underground, it could only be pumped to the surface by electrical means. We therefore needed to embark on the additional project of funding and installing electricity supply. The final photos show the construction of the electricity pylons the digging of the trenches for the water pipes and electrical cables.
